A lot of parents see potty training their toddlers
as having to go through one of the most important stages in their
children's development process. And their apprehension is justified too
as this is among the initial lessons the little tots get in personal
grooming. When to begin with the task of potty training and how long it
will take, however, differs from one child to another. While few take to
it as early as when they are just about to complete their first year,
others may take several more months. At this stage, selecting a suitable
potty seat for the little one is important.
Potty seats play a vital role in toilet training kids. Baby potty seats
are different from adult toilets. A lot of these are very colorful and
bright in order to attract the baby's attention. They are also
small-sized and comfortable so that they occupy least space in the
nursery. Though various models of the baby potty training seats are
available, one can put them into two vital groups. There are ones that
can be fixed on top on an adult toilet seat and are best for slightly
older kids. The other variety of baby potty training seat is the
small-sized toy shaped ones that can be placed on the floor
independently.
Even in these two broad varieties, the potty seats come in many designs
and shapes to suit different preferences. Some potty seats are soft and
padded to allow more comfort to the child. Some others may come in the
design of a chair or may have a musical feature fitted into them. Few
potty training seats also sport a toy bar to keep the child engaged
while he or she is using the seat. All potty seats are built in such a
way that they are useful in potty training the child. They prove to be
of great help when traveling with a child. Rewarding the baby for using
the potty seat is a good way of training him or her to use it.
