One thing that maximum parents fret about is feeding
their little one. Almost all new-age parents swear by the adage 'you are
what you eat' and this perhaps, explains the reason behind their
unwavering fixation of what and how to feed their child. While what
parents would feed the new born is primarily decided by the age of the
child and the customs and traditions they themselves follow, here are
some useful tips and instructions pertaining the products or accessories
to be used while feeding the baby.
The most crucial item among all baby feeding products is the bottle via
which milk is fed to the child. These come in many styles, so you can
choose as per your baby's needs. There are reusable baby bottles that
come with straight or angled necks. The ones with angled necks lessen
the amount of air bubbles the baby swallows while being fed milk from
the bottle. Then, there are disposable bottles also available in the
market. Another baby feeding item parents should remember to keep with
the baby bottle is the baby bottle warmer and bib.
How parents decide to feed their child is also very important aspect to
be considered. If the child is just an infant, he /she can be made to
lie on a bed while milk is being fed from the baby bottle. Incase the
child is old enough to sit comfortably, parents can prefer buy a
suitable and safe high chair for feeding. There are, however, few things
they have to keep in mind. The chair should be stable, cozy, contain a
seat belt and should not have any sharp edges. Though not pertinent,
wheels in baby chair can help in easy movement.
Sterilization of all utensils or cutlery used in feeding the baby is
most important. Its non-adherence can cause all efforts to provide
healthy food to the child to go in vain. The little ones are very
susceptible to infections and so parents have to be on alert all the
time as far as hygiene is concerned. Proper cleaning of the baby bottles
is a must. For this, one should buy long brushes that will reach till
the bottom of the bottle and scrap off even the tiniest of food / milk
residue accumulated there.
