Baby Care

Every mother yearns to take perfect care of her little one. She wants to give the baby maximum love and protection and make sure that the baby does not have any kind of a disturbance. Taking care of a baby is the topmost priority of a mother. For a first time mother, the experience can be overwhelming, pleasurable as well as tiring. The very thought of handling a delicate little baby can make most mothers a little nervous. Rest assured, babies love to be caressed and cuddled and this is what will bond the two of you together. To know how to take care of babies, read these baby care tips.
  • In case of a newborn, the first two weeks are the most important as the baby needs your full support and love. The first two weeks are the stage when you develop an unbroken bond with your baby.
  • The baby must be fed according to a set pattern. Avoid feeding the baby at nights as it sets a wrong pattern. The baby should not be given solid food items all of a sudden. Consult your doctor for the same.
  • The baby must have adequate sleep as it helps in the development of the brain and various other senses. Noisy disturbances must be kept out of the room, though some faint noise like that of the fan revolving may actually help the baby sleep.
  • Keep your surroundings clean and hygienic all the time. Even a little bit of dirt is enough to trigger off an unwanted infection in your baby. The baby must be dressed in light and clean clothes, while in colder months, the baby must be kept warm with soft blankets that don't irritate the skin.
  • Do not give the baby microwave heated milk. The temperature of a microwave heated milk rises sharply and takes time to cool down. Also, the heating is uneven that can leave the milk cold in some places.
  • While giving the baby a bath, make sure the temperature of the water is between mildly cool and lukewarm. Use mild soap and shampoo and make sure to apply moisturizing lotion on the baby after a bath. Massaging a baby softly with body oil also ensures strong and healthy development of muscles.
  • Do not ignore a crying baby. It may be hungry, may need a nappy change, or may just be missing the physical cuddling of the mother. The more you cuddle and pamper your baby, the stronger will be the bond between the two of you.
